INFINITI Q50 vs Acura TLX near Miami, FL

Finding the right luxury sedan that meets all your wants and needs can be a difficult process when there are so many options to think about. We understand that this can make the process of buying a new car even more stressful. That’s why we have created this comparison review, narrowing the segment down quickly to help you decide which one is truly right. On the left, we have the INFINITI Q50 and to the right, we have the Acura TLX. Both of these sedans have a lot to offer, so keep reading to find out which one we recommend!

INFINITI Q50 Power & Handling

The Q50 can be powered by one of three engines and boy are they impressive! The first engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that creates 258 pound-feet of torque and 208 horsepower. More power can be found with the available 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that cranks out 295 pound-feet of torque and 300 horsepower. The final engine, a more powerful version of the 3.0-liter turbo V6, generates 350 pound-feet of torque and 400 horsepower. All three engines are mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission and RWD is the standard configuration but AWD is available.

Acura TLX Power & Handling

Only two engines power the Acura TLX. The first engine, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, generates 182 pound-feet of torque and 206 horsepower. Models powered with this engine are only configured with front-wheel-drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The second engine option is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 267 pound-feet of torque and 290 horsepower and comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel is standard with this engine while AWD is available.

INFINITI Q50 Features & Design

The Q50 offers four trim levels to choose from. They include the 2.0t Pure, 3.0t Luxe, 3.0t Sport, and Red Sport 400. The standard features for the Q50 include simulated-leather upholstery, a six-speaker sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition, forward collision warning, selectable drive modes, automatic wipers, LED lighting, 17” alloy wheels, two USB ports, and the INFINITI InTouch interface which is comprised of an 8” upper touchscreen and 7” lower touchscreen with a center console controller. The upper trim levels build upon that with features like larger wheels, voice commands, driver-seat memory functions, surround-view camera, Bose sound system, quilted leather upholstery, navigation, and a slew of driver assistance features.

Acura TLX Features & Design

The Acura TLX is offered with two packages for each of the two engine options rather than traditional trim levels, making it harder to find the features you want and need. Standard features for the TLX include LED headlights, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven-speaker sound system, and two touchscreens (8” upper and 7” lower). The packages add features like dual exhaust, decklid spoiler, ventilated front seats, a surround-view camera system, remote engine start, touchless locking and unlocking, and wireless device charging.

As we stated before, both sedans had a lot to offer but it’s clear to see, the INFINITI Q50 is the one to buy! A tremendously more powerful engine lineup will keep you satisfied behind the wheel while the trim level options will make it easy to find the features you want and need! The Acura TLX just can’t keep up. If you are interested in learning more about the INFINITI Q50, check out the other reviews we have linked below or reach out to our sales team!
